• GOLD MEDAL - Great Australian Shiraz Challenge 2014.
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc re-wrote the rules on how this variety can taste and Giesen played a major role in introducing it to wine drinkers around the world. People everywhere have fallen for its intense aromas and ripe flavours of gooseberry and passionfruit, while retaining a gentle leafiness and a lovely refreshing acid backbone.
'If you haven't heard of or tasted a Giesen Sav Blanc, you have been living a very sheltered life. Massive volume savvy from New Zealand that maintains a good quality and value for money year in and year out. It's as you expect New Zealand sauvignon blanc to taste. 88/100'
- West Australian, Perth, 28 Feb 2013, by Ray Jordan.
Straight from the Eden Valley, this South Australian sparkling stays true to the Champaign heritage. You'll be whisked away with scents of strawberries and peach, while enjoying a sparkling which is as enjoyable with food as it is on its own.
Sourced from the South Australian regions of Barossa, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra. The wine is full of sweet, spicy dark fruit, rounded out by the quality oak from barrels usually used for Bins 128, 138 and 389.
'Dark colour - noticeably dark even in the low lighting. A really surprisingly cool and coiled nose that looks more minty and Cabernetish than expected. Serious. Sappy tannin, mid weight palate is really structured with pronounced acidity if slightly raw oak. Impressive lines, though that mint and rawness may not be for all. Promising, Maybe a little too minty, Not quite as long as some of the wines in this lineup.
Quite Penfoldian though. Certainly pretty substantial stuff. - 91 Points.'
- Australian Wine Review, 28 Feb 2014, by Andrew Graham.
This best-of-vintage Shiraz from Wynns Coonawarra Estate is produced with grapes of extraordinarily high quality. It's great value whether you drink it now or cellar on the short term.
'This Coonawarra red has never been better value. Boysenberry, spice and more complex earthy notes track through a medium bodied, soft wine, with ripe tannins providing good backbone.'
Ageing, Drink over six years. Food ideas Lamb burgers; beef fillet. - Score 90

The first New Zealand winery to produce Sauvignon Blanc delivers a classic wine full of tropical fruit and citrus. It's fruit driven with a generous lashing of flavours with a typical acidity giving a fresh, clean and passionfruit finish. Distinctly Marlborough from the nose to the herbaceous tropical palate of guava and ripe melon characters. It's fresh and zingy with a splash of lemon tang on the palate hitting the mark.
